At a special meeting held on 8 January, 2011, the Board of Directors of the Veterans Business Association met to reconstitute the board and fill vacancies that resulted from resignations in November of 2010.

Felix Guerra, Herb de la Rosa, Joe "China Boy" Lopez, Melissa Wilder, and Salvador Rodriguez were invited to join the board along with remaining board members Pete G. Flores, Ed Fleming, Steve Cheatum, and Bill Sparks, along with the remaining officers - Treasurer, Michelle Murray, and Secretary, John Pedroza.

A firm commitment to serve was given by each VBA member present.

Bill Sparks was nominated to be President and the existing officers were reappointed by the new board.

After the meeting, Salvador Rodriguez agreed to step up to fill the vacant position as Vice President and was approved by electronic voting of the new board members.

At a subsequent board meeting held on 5 February, Herb de la Rosa was selected to serve as Chairman of the Board and Pete G. Flores was selected to serve as Vice Chair.

We are sad to have to report that Ed Fleming asked to excused from the Board of Directors for personal reasons but we are very happy that Terry Smith, one of our founding members has stepped up to fill the vacancy.
